Employee Appreciation Program — see packages at the bottom!
Looking for a product that’s designed for corporations, and follows the five principles of appreciation? Let me help you with a recognition program that shows your employees that you value them!
5 Principles for an Effective Program
§ Meaningful
Effective appreciation must be sincere and have a connection to the person receiving it. A great way to do this, is to offer a personal message of thanks explaining the positive influence of an employee’s actions, and acknowledging the contribution. Some companies have employees chose gifts from a list, and while this may work, it eliminates the aspect of relationship building that is so important for success.
§ Occurs in the moment
We want to show appreciation as we feel it. Thanking someone a week or two after the action is not as powerful as taking the time to let them know at the time. This not only shows your appreciation, but represents that you value the action enough to take time out to recognize it.
§ Consistent
This covers two aspects: ensuring that the program is maintained, and allowing equal treatment for all. An effective program is one that retains its usefulness in the long-term and does not divide colleagues. Appreciation is offered for work done well and all receive the same type of appreciation, although it may be personalized.
§ Simple
To be successful, a program needs to be simple. Everyone needs to know how it works, including the five w’s.
What — same type of appreciation
Why — for a job well done
Where — at the office
When — at the time
Who — anyone who does a good job, including managers
§ Cost-effective
In business, the bottom line always drives the actions taken. To be effective, a program needs to cover the first four factors, but not become a financial burden.
Building positive relationships is an essential part of a successful business. It only takes a minute to thank or show you care about the people with whom you work. Good employees or customers can be hard to find, and everyday they make the decision to either stay or leave.
